Scheduling Expeditor – Dayton, Ohio

As a Scheduling Expeditor, you’ll be:
- Providing technical and/or parts availability support for internal customers
- Resolving technical parts problems and tracking the status of products to ensure production efficiency
- Responding to inquiries for expedite requests and resolving concerns with shipment, shortages, internal customer requests, and cancellation or orders
- Assisting the Inventory & Scheduling Manager with production planning, data entry and other administrative tasks as needed
- Cross-training and performing other duties as assigned
What’s a typical day like?
Imagine this scenario: the Customer Experience team gets a call from a customer urgently needing specialty tooling and equipment to complete a job. Every hour of downtime costs the customer over $100,000. They’re relying on Elliott to provide the solution—can we deliver?
As the Scheduling Expeditor, you receive a call from Sales at 4:30 PM. They need parts for a condenser expander, but the parts are out of stock, and UPS picks up at 5:30 PM. You quickly check the components in Planner’s Workbench and find an existing assembly that can be disassembled to get the required parts.
You create two work orders and inform Shipping about the status of the order. Shipping pulls the needed inventory, and Assembly completes the work orders just as UPS arrives. Shipping packs the condenser expander, and everything ships the same day. The customer receives the tooling the next day, getting their operation back up and running.
The following morning, the customer calls to express their gratitude. The Customer Experience Manager shares this success with the Operations team. Impressed with the quality of the tooling and the service, the customer begins referring their co-workers from other locations to Elliott, leading to new opportunities.
