As an Rental and Repair Technician you’ll be:
- Reviewing, evaluating, and processing returned rental equipment.
- Repairing and refurbishing rental equipment, managing inventory.
- Conducting product tests, packaging and delivering products.
- Collaborating with the engineering team to improve product quality and design.
- Preparing maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting documentation.
- Providing repair or refurbishment cost estimates.
What’s a typical day like?
Your day begins at Elliott Tool Technologies where you are a crucial team member in the Rental and Repair department. As soon as you step into the workshop, you find a batch of returned rental equipment waiting for your expert evaluation. Using your keen eye for detail, you identify which items need repairs, refurbishment, or decommissioning.
Throughout the day, you work on refurbishing and repairing the identified equipment, ensuring it meets the company’s high-quality standards. You also manage the inventory, maintaining an accurate count of all rental equipment.
In the afternoon, a coworker asks for your help in preparing a cost estimate for refurbishing a client’s equipment. Your experience comes into play as you provide an accurate estimate that will keep the client satisfied and the business profitable.

We are looking for a Rental and Repair Technician. Do you have what it takes?
- Experience – You have hands-on experience and/or a degree or certification in manufacturing, maintenance, or mechanical repair.
- Detail-Oriented – You track the details and get it right the first time.
- Problem-Solver – You identify root causes and resolve issues before they escalate.
- Communicator – You share information clearly, keep others in the loop, and coordinate across teams to avoid confusion.
- Technical Expert – You’re good at figuring out how things work and using practical thinking to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Locally Based – You live within a sustainable commute of Dayton, OH.
