En los expansores m\u00e1s grandes, la jaula tiene espacio suficiente para que los desechos se eliminen de forma natural. Sin embargo, a medida que la jaula es m\u00e1s peque\u00f1a, el espacio para eliminar los desechos tambi\u00e9n se limita. Esto puede resultar en una mayor acumulaci\u00f3n de dep\u00f3sitos de material del tubo o lubricante en el interior del expansor. Cada vez que un rodillo pasa por un punto espec\u00edfico del di\u00e1metro interior, la fuerza genera una presi\u00f3n en el metal. Dependiendo del material, el tubo puede intentar resistir la fuerza aplicada y volver a su estado inicial. Cuanto m\u00e1s trabaje el expansor el material del tubo, m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido se endurecer\u00e1, lo que significa que dejar\u00e1 de ser maleable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los tubos con paredes m\u00e1s delgadas son m\u00e1s propensos al endurecimiento por deformaci\u00f3n debido a la delgadez del material. Si el expansor no tiene el tama\u00f1o correcto, puede producirse un laminado desigual, conocido como \u00abtenting\u00bb (formaci\u00f3n de pliegues). En tubos de mayor tama\u00f1o, una de las mejores formas de evitar la formaci\u00f3n de pliegues es con un expansor de 4 o 5 rodillos. Sin embargo, las herramientas m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as no siempre permiten modificaciones debido al \u00e1rea de trabajo limitada.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Una de las formas de evitar la formaci\u00f3n de pliegues en estas aplicaciones es asegurarse de que el expansor se ajusta al di\u00e1metro interior del tubo y que se utiliza el motor correcto. Se requiere menos fuerza cuando se expanden tubos de pared delgada, por lo que configurar en lo m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido un motor de bajo torque permitir\u00e1 que el tubo se expanda lo suficientemente r\u00e1pido para evitar que se formen pliegues.
